Here is some gossip I just heard from a reliable source. There was this guy in one company in Makati where he worked as Senior Engineer. He is cute and charming (when it's dark) and he has this really gorgeous body. OMG!!!
Anyway, he was working fine on a project until one day he messed up really bad by fixing a security leak which led to a freak show. To summarize what happened:
- The site went down several times in 2 weeks
- The client was unhappy
- The boss blamed the really cute engineer
- And, uhm...was promoted with flying colors
I heard that the company offered him multiple roles and responsibilities after that incident which are:
As Team Lead
He answers emails, attend meetings, assign bugs and takes the blame. Yes, the typical team lead role.
As Senior Developer
Debugs his work and the work of developer under him. He occasionally becomes autistic especially when all of a sudden someone from his team teleports to another dimension leaving him with all the bugs to fix.
As QA
Help with testing the application from test server to production. If there are bugs he assigned it to himself for fixing. Confused? Don't be!
As Technical Support
Provide support 24x7 for a BETA site especially after production updates and blogs while waiting for something to happen...just like what I am doing now - blogging.
As Ninja
Lurks in the shadows every night while holding a smoke bomb making himself ready so that when his phone rings he will suddenly appear with a samurai sword on his right hand and a laptop on his left.
Ah, the so called life of a Software Engineer...
