My Experience

If you haven't read my previous tutorial about creating Form Regions, please read it here.

I am no Office developer or an expert with Outlook but I would like to share my experiences with Form Region’s unbounded controls in Visual Studio 2008 hoping that it will shed some light to other people. One of my task last time was about “Sending Form Regions” or, like Sue pointed out, “Sending messages with specific MessageClass”.

So here’s the sample of retaining values of unbound controls after sending it through email or by simply saving them in a folder somewhere.

PropertyAccessor Object

The key object that is responsible for saving values of your Form Region is the MailItem’s PropertyAccessor. More about PropertyAccessor can be found in PropertyAccessor.SetProperty.

For every value that you want to save, you will need a unique schema name. To learn more about namespaces please read on Referencing Properties by Namespace.

You can download the sample code here.
